Visit Peebles - The Royal Burgh

Hay Lodge Park

With lots of green open space, wooded areas, paths, childrens play area and a riverside location, a visit to Hay Lodge Park is a must for any visitor.

Hay Lodge is the largest park in Peebles and is beautifully situated on the banks of the Tweed.

The main entrance is on the Neidpath road ( but is also easily reached on foot by following the riverside paths from the center of town :

There are paths on both sides of the Tweed but there are stairs to negotiate on the north (swimming pool) side of the river.

The path on the South side of the river is level with a tarmac surface and leads all the way to Fotheringham Footbridge near the west end of the park.

The bridge has ramps ( built by Peebles Callants ) which allows wheelchair access into the park itself.

Near Fotheringham bridge is an enclosed childrens recreational area (swing park).

There is a network of paths around the park which makes for relatively easy walking but if you fancy  little more of a challenge, you can leave the park and follow the river upstream to Neidpath and further afield.

Toilet facilities are located near the main Neidpath road entrance.
